The Last Torchbearer

Frank Buckles, the last U.S. World War I veteran, died on Sunday at his home in West Virginia. He was 110.

Yale University Libraries and Collections recommend the following areas to explore in economic issues related to World War I:

  • Agriculture
  • The integration of women into the industrial workforce
  • Manufacturing
  • Protected industries
  • Raw materials
  • Realignment of the national economies toward the war
  • The role of empires in the war economy
